An Taoiseach Visits Arann Healthcare

Arann Healthcare was delighted to host An Taoiseach, the Tánaiste and the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation for the launch of the new Healthcare Innovation Hub (HIH) on Thursday July 19th at our laboratory in the Guinness Enterprise Centre

The HIH is an exciting new national initiative that aims to facilitate collaboration between the health sector and industry. The HIH is part of the remit of initiatives undertaken by the Government in their Action Plan for Jobs.

It is envisaged that by allowing companies easier access to hospitals and facilities to trial new medical devices and products, these products can be commercialised quicker therefore generating increased employment within the Irish economy. The new HIH will initially comprise of six companies, of which Arann Healthcare is one. Participation in the HIH is a significant endorsement for Arann Healthcare and our technology, and will enable Arann Healthcare to demonstrate cost savings and the reduction in patient-infection rates associated with the introduction of the new RADICA disinfection system to the healthcare market.

The RADICA disinfection system has been specially designed to disinfect a wide range of objects found in the patient bay with primary focus on hospital mattresses. RADICA, developed to utilise plasma gas discharge technology is an efficient, consistent and safe disinfection method that allows healthcare facilities to better utilise their limited resources, significantly reduce HCAI treatment costs, and increase bed capacity.

The RADICA Disinfection System is due to be launched in the market in early 2013.
