Hospital trials commencing in HRB Clinical Research Facility in Cork
Arann Healthcare will be conducting a trial of the RADICA Disinfection System at the HRB Clinical Research Facility in Cork from March 4th to March 15th. The trial is being run under the Healthcare Innovation Hub initiative in cooperation with the HRB Clinical Research Facility at UCC and the Mercy University Hospital.

Environmental Protection Agency grant award
Grant Award funded under the National Waste Prevention Programme (NWPP) & Science, Technology, Research & Innovation for the Environment (STRIVE) Programme
Healthcare are proud to announce their recent success in being awarded an Environmental Protection Agency grant funded under the National Waste Prevention Programme (NWPP) & Science, Technology, Research & Innovation for the Environment (STRIVE) Programme 2007 – 2013.
The grant awarded from the Cleaner, Greener Production Programme (CGPP) will enable Arann Healthcare to undertake a detailed Life Cycle Analysis comparing our new RADICA Disinfection System against the various disinfection techniques currently employed by hospitals. The project will focus on the area of healthcare mattresses. Currently disinfection processes use significant amounts of water, large amounts of chemicals or utilise outside vendors to transport the mattresses off site for decontamination incurring expensive transportation costs in the process.
The project will enable Arann Healthcare to highlight the benefits of using innovative new technology that provides a cleaner, greener solution for the healthcare market.

First hospital trials completed
Arann Healthcare in collaboration with Leopardstown Park Hospital have completed the first hospital trials of the RADICA disinfection system. The trial has successfully demonstrated the ease of use and efficiency of the RADICA disinfection system for the disinfection of healthcare mattresses. This innovative system facilitated the disinfection of mattresses to be carried out in a systematic and controlled manner while maintaining minimal disruption to patients and staff alike.
The RADICA disinfection system was rigorously tested on a wide cross section of mattresses including static foam, visco elastic, alternating and combinations of all three. The testing incorporated many different brands of mattresses from several manufacturers.
